ControversiesBlackbuck hunting case (1999): Salman & his co-stars of Hum Saath Saath Hain were accused of hunting blackbuck deer & chinkara (endangered animals) while shooting for the film in Jodhpur, Rajasthan.
On 5 April 2018, he was found guilty in the Blackbuck Killing Case and was sentenced to 5 years by the Jodhpur Court; Magistrate Dev Kumar Khatri pronounced the verdict. He was charged under Section 51 of Wildlife (Protection) Act. The Jodhpur Court gave benefit of doubt to “Hum Saath Saath Hain” co-stars, Saif Ali Khan, Tabu, Neelam, and Sonali Bendre. [18]
